DIY Tune Up (1 of 6)

03/12/2009 - 7:00pm
03/12/2009 - 10:00pm

This 6-week series will cover everything you need to know to keep your bike tuned up. You will learn to overhaul bottom brackets, headsets and hubs, true wheels, adjust brakes, replace brake pads and cables, and adjust shifters and derailleurs. This course is perfect for preparing your bike for the Spring riding season or cleaning it up from harsh Winter use. Participants will also have the opportunity to install fenders, lights and other accessories.

West Town Bikes will provide the workstands and tools. Cables, housing, bearings and grease will be provided. Participants must provide their own project bikes, and any other replacement parts needed, which should be purchased before-hand at your local bike shop. Storage space will not be provided--you must take your bike with you at the end of each class.

Adrian Zelaya (speakersmakesounds@gmail.com) and Bekki Newcum (gaff_rigged_tech@yahoo.com)

Participants should contact Adrian Zelaya at speakersmakesounds@gmail.com and cc Director Alex Wilson at alex@westtownbikes.org to arrange enrollment in this class.
