This class will cover it all, including headsets, bottom brackets, hubs, wheel truing, brakes, shifters and derailleurs as well as finishing work and trouble shooting. Learn the basics of how to keep your bike running smoothly all season long! This workshop will cover basics such as fix-a-flat, basic cable adjustments and more. You'll also learn necessary maintenance for winter riding as well as ways to best equip you and your bike for the cold, dark and snow. This is a great way to learn about your bike and become familiar with West Town Bikes. Bring a bike to work on. No prior knowledge needed! First come first served with a comfortable work capacity of eight participants. Lauren Sailor and Martin Hazard RSVP's aren't required, but the instructors like to know who's coming, so contact Lauren at elsailor@gmail.com or Martin at martrain73@hotmail.com to rsvp. You will learn to overhaul bottom brackets, headsets and hubs, true wheels, adjust brakes, replace brake pads and cables, and adjust shifters and derailleurs. This course is perfect for preparing your bike for Winter riding or cleaning it up from harsh seasonal use. Participants will also have the opportunity to install fenders, lights and other Winter accessories.
